Forever Cholla +

Photographing the expansive cholla forest early in my career was a transformative experience. The unique landscape, dotted with spiky cholla cacti, created a mesmerizing tapestry of shapes and colors. Each hush of the desert air was punctuated by the visual drama of these resilient plants, standing tall against the horizon. However, my enthusiasm was met with a challenge: the cholla's notorious tendency to latch onto anything that brushed up against it. Thick leather boots became my shield, but even they offered little protection from the relentless grasp of those spiky balls. This unique blend of beauty and challenge deepened my appreciation for the harsh yet stunning environment, shaping my artistic vision for years to come.
