Columbia River Gorge, Oregon

Customer Reviews

Triple Falls in the Columbia River Gorge has always been a sight to behold. I remember my trip there many years ago, camera in hand, ready to capture the majesty of three cascading waterfalls pouring gloriously into the Columbia River. To say it was picturesque would be an understatement. It was as if Mother Nature herself had personally designed the scene, ensuring every leaf and rock was placed just so.

Fast forward to today, and let’s just say, if I hadn’t taken those photos back then, I’d be wondering if I had ever actually visited. Since a raging wildfire swept through, the falls now look like they’ve just finished a very intense haircut, with charred tree stumps standing like confused sentinels in what used to be a lush green paradise.

While the waterfalls continue to flow, the surrounding landscape resembles something out of a post-apocalyptic movie set. Blackened trees reach toward the sky like skeletal fingers, and the once-vibrant colors have faded to a muted palette of soot and ashen gray. It gives the whole place a peculiar character, as if the falls are now the lone survivors of a dramatic tale of survival.
