I made this image at a pivotal moment in my career when I embraced the philosophy of photographing anything and everything in front of me. The challenges and obscurities of subjects fascinated me, pushing my creative limits and leading me into unique subjects. One memorable experience occurred in Taft, California, where I found myself walking among a sea of oil derricks at dawn.
