In the heart of Altamont Pass, California, I encountered an abandoned water tender standing stoically next to a rusting windmill. The stormy skies above were a dramatic tapestry of dark hues and shifting light, igniting my creative spirit. Inspired by the work of Australian photographer Leo Meier, who expertly captures landscapes in extreme wide angle, I felt compelled to document this scene in a 360-degree panorama. Each angle revealed a unique perspective on this haunting yet beautiful juxtaposition of nature and man, as the tempestuous clouds swirled overhead, adding a sense of urgency and drama to the moment.
