Ten years in the making, this image is the result of a decade of persistence—countless attempts across seasons, times of day, and locations throughout Central Oregon. I first envisioned this composition ten years ago and chased that idea through snow, wind, high sun, and low light until the scene finally aligned with the original concept. Every failed attempt taught me something about light, timing, and place; the final frame is less a single moment than the accumulation of those lessons.
