Crescent City is a beautiful simple town on the north west border of California. After doing good research I knew that the moon was going to be setting about 30 minutes before the sunrise. The only problem was I didn't know exactly where it was going to hit the horizon so I didn't want to do to much scouting the day before only to be disappointed as the moon sets far off from where I was hoping. I knew what I had to do and I did it... I set my alarm for a painful 3:00 am. I went to bed very late as well so when the alarm went off I drug myself out of my sleeping bag and staggered slowly out on to a pier adjacent from the lighthouse and studied the moon and where it was going to dip below the horizon... Exactly where I hoped! I set up my camera and shot image after image until the bright contrasty light of day covered the whole scene.
